Nature.com, our online platform, attracts over six million unique users per month.The marketing department is currently recruiting a Marketing Manager to work within the marketing team responsible for NPG advertising sales. This position will report into the Senior Marketing Manager based in our London office.Responsible for: - Developing marketing plans by understanding the strategic objectives of the commercial team and setting clear marketing objectives and an activity plan to support them- Effectively working with internal design, as well as external vendors as needed, in the delivery of marketing activity plans - Implementing tactics to generate sales leads and increase customer engagement (e.g. arranging client events at key conferences, developing whitepapers/thought-leadership resources and working with the digital team to redesign the advertising website)- Producing tools to support the ‘integrated solutions sell’ approach to sales and developing strong communication channels with the relevant sales team- Managing and monitoring digital marketing efforts using available systems e.g. Web Trends, Silverpop, DART etc.- Analyzing and evaluating campaign results and providing key stakeholders with regular reports- Annual budget planning and monthly budget reports- Robust proof reading of marketing materials to ensure accuracy of data and grammar as well as consistency of brand identity and key messages- Occasional representation of the marketing department at key exhibitions around the world- Administrative and other duties as required Required Skills / Knowledge:· 5+ years marketing experience, preferably developed in a B2B environment. Commercial marketing experience (e.g. supporting advertising sales) will be highly advantageous· Good commercial acumen with evidence of an inquisitive approach to marketing (e.g. continually looking for new ways of increasing revenue)· Ability to manage both urgent tactical activity with more strategic plans · Articulate written and verbal communication skills· Strong aptitude in digital marketing and tools with excellent analytical and problem solving skills· Works well in a fast-paced environment where project management skills and attention to detail is essentialWe are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, writing or marketing/business.
