Your tasks
The Publishing Operations group is searching for a Senior Manager, Insights to join their team on a temp to perm basis. This is a unique opportunity to be on the ground level of a new Consumer Insights team. This is a newly created role to help implement consumer research and leverage consumer data throughout the publishing process from editorial to marketing to product development

Summary
?Serves as a researcher for the Publishing Operations group, overseeing development, execution and analysis of research to guide key business decisions related to authors, audiences, categories and books.
?Helps guide and influence business decisions through in-depth consumer and category insights
?Works closely with key stakeholders (e.g. editorial, marketing, publicity) to identify and define research needs
?Leads qualitative and quantitative research, including (but not limited to) consumer and category segmentation, audience identification, brand positioning, concept and creative testing, copy testing and trend identification
?Acts as a thought partner and key insights resource
?Collaborates with corporate Strategy and Analytics team

Responsibilities & Duties
?Recommends, designs and oversees the execution of a variety of research projects (qualitative and quantitative) from inception to presentation
?Analyzes primary and secondary research data and presents strategic insights and actionable recommendations to business teams
?Manages multiple projects at various stages of completion
?Builds strong partnership with stakeholders (e.g. editorial, marketing publicity)
?Documents best practices and learnings
?Creates research toolkit

Our requirements
Requirements
?Minimum 7 years of experience designing and implementing consumer research to address a variety of business objectives
?Ability to understand, integrate and synthesize primary and secondary data to form insightful observations and clear, actionable business implications
?Experience with a range of primary research methodologies
?Ability to find creative solutions and leverage non-traditional research tools (e.g. social media)
?Self-starter who?s comfortable working independently
?Strong influencing and communication skills
?Experience at a research agency, consumer packaged goods or media agency preferred, but not required
?Bachelor?s Degree required, MBA a plus
