We are currently seeking a Senior Editor to be responsible for a wide range of editorial and publishing tasks in the HarperEntertainment, HarperFestival, and other imprints. Under supervision of the Executive Editor, the Senior Editor: 1. Acquires, conceptualizes, edits, and works on the general development of licensed tie-ins in a variety of formats including activity books, 8x8s, chapter books, storybooks/scrapbooks, novelizations, board books, novelties, and beginning readers. 2. Interacts closely with licensors, including movie studios and television networks. 3. Conducts competitive research, develops and maintains production schedules, and collaborates closely with design, production, marketing and promotion, legal, and sales departments.4. Develops original ideas for acquisition and development. The primary focus will be developing original picture book concepts, but on occasion will develop projects for the chapter book and middle grade markets.
