WEB DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Children’s Aid Society is seeking a Web Development manager to be responsible for planning, building and maintaining an effective, accessible and profitable web presence for The Children’s Aid Society. In collaboration with the Online Strategies Manager, the Web Development Manager will conceive, build and maintain Children’s Aid websites. In addition, the Web Development Manager will administer the web hosting accounts and work with staff to plan, execute and evaluate existing and future web marketing and ecommerce strategies, in addition to program content.

Responsibilities:
* Design and program webpages and templates that are valid and semantic (XHTML, CSS, PHP, Template);
* Design and code email communications and templates that render properly across all major email clients;
* Administer the Drupal content management software for all Children’s Aid sites;
* Administer and maintain the Children’s Aid corporate extranet “Charlie”;
* Administer donation pages in conjunction with the Raiser’s Edge database;
* Evaluate and ensure that all front-end website code is efficient, semantic and standards compliant;
* Work with Online Strategies Manager to ensure that site content maintains freshness and accuracy;
* Proof submitted text for grammar, usage and style;
* Post content to Children’s Aid websites;
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in related field;
* Specific experience with Drupal content management software;
* Professional experience and commitment to W3C standards based front-end web design and development;
* Professional experience administering, maintaining and theming PHP content management systems;
* Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work;
* Ability to work as an effective member of a team;
* Strong attention to detail;
* Ability to work closely with others;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Ability to adapt to shifting priorities;
* Effectively communicate technical possibilities/parameters to non-web employees;
* SEO and web marketing experience;
* Experience/interest in social networking applications.
