HarperCollins Publishers is seeking an experienced Executive Managing Editor for the Morrow and Ecco imprints.

•Meet weekly with Publishers/Associate Publishers/Marketing Directors for the Morrow, Morrow Paperbacks, Harper Voyager, Morrow Cookbooks, Amistad, and Ecco imprints to go over list scheduling and production issues. Follow up to resolve problems and conflicts.
•Act as the main liaison between the Publisher and Editorial groups and the Production Editorial, Interior Design, Production, Art, and e-book depts. in coordinating book schedules, following up on late and missing materials, and resolving production problems and issues.
•Attend all general seasonal publishing meetings: launch and planning.
•Coordinate and track the bound galley/ARE program for marketing, covers and interior files.
•Prepare reports for and lead the weekly production meeting. Follow up with Editors and Production Eds on late materials, trouble-shoot problems.
•Maintain up-to-date database information.
•Review all editorial transmittals to production.
•Review and route contract requests.
•Oversee a dept composed of an experienced Production Editorial manager, an assistant, and 7 Production Editors to process 350+ titles per year.
•Give instruction on procedures and process to Editorial Assistants and others; help to improve and streamline in-place procedures and to establish new ones as needed.

•5 to 10 years’ trade book experience in Managing Ed and Production Editorial
•Great patience and a calm results-oriented approach under stressful circumstances a plus.
•Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
