Systems Engineer (Publishing Technical Specialist)

XO Croup Inc. is looking for a highly organized, self-directed team player with outstanding skills in Systems Engineering with a focus on Creative Technology Support. In this role, the System Engineer will be the first line support person for all publishing and creative technologies. The position is primarily focused on supporting the use of workflow management tools and the Adobe software suite. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment and the ability to plan and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners at various levels within the organization.

The System Engineer (Publishing Technical Specialist) will report to the Manager, Corporate Operations in the Shared Technologies Services division and will be located in New York.

Responsibilities Include:
•Dedicated resource to support all creative functions within the company
•Create, Update and Customize instructional materials and best practices documents for all SEG groups and Publishing technology, covering publishing system and other related topics.
•Ensure projects are setup and configured for the publishing system including workflow management, user setup and management, vendor/freelancer setup as well as server setup.
•K4 Administration, maintenance and upgrades
•Mac and Windows administration
•Adobe Creative suite support including installations, upgrades and troubleshooting
•Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS) Administration and Support
•Manage the personnel issues for incoming K4 projects including, but not limited to scheduling training, installs, go-live timing.
•Conduct daily monitoring of systems
•Image / Video management
•Printer support
•Font Management
•Other IT functions as necessary


A successful Candidate will have the following qualifications:

•Strong Knowledge of K4 Administration including configuration, optimization and workflow best practices
•Strong Knowledge of Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS)
•Strong Knowledge of Adobe InDesign Server
•Experience with Mac and Windows support, deployments and configurations
•Experience with the entire Adobe Creative suite including installation, configuration and best practices
•Experience with Font Management Software including maintenance, workflow and best practices.
•Experience with Image / Video Management processes including workflow and best practices
•Experience managing and supporting printers
•Experience with Mac to PC conversions
•Ability to evaluate and recommend new apps and technologies for increased productivity.
•Experience handling the transmission of large files
•Strong technical understanding of Infrastructure and System dependencies
•Ability to translate technical information into business terms
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Experience writing technical documentation and training materials
