Currently, we have a career opportunity as a Content Producer/Writer.

This position is responsible primarily for gathering information and writing and editing copy for a variety of Kellogg School digital and print publications, including admissions catalogs, academic departmental brochures, Kellogg World alumni magazine, as well as reporting on student business conferences, and performing other writing tasks as assigned.

This critical role:

•Assuming significant editorial oversight for compiling, fact-checking and editing alumni news updates solicited from some 150 alumni class and club representatives.
•Reporting on key facets of student business conferences and other events.
•Assisting editors in planning and developing story budgets and strategic initiatives.
•Researching, writing and editing news briefs and feature-length articles for Kellogg School Web site, alumni magazine, and other school outlets.
•Assisting in proofreading the magazine and other materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

•An undergraduate degree in English, journalism or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
•At least two years of appropriate experience in journalism or related field.
•Strong reporting, writing, copy editing and editorial skills.
•Ability to understand and interpret business topics for a broad audience.
•Strong interviewing skills.
•Ability to work independently to complete tasks under deadline pressure.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
•Exceptional fluency in English language grammar and punctuation and Associated Press style rules.
•Familiarity with SEO best practices.
•Working knowledge of Social Media.
•Firm grasp about best practices for writing Web content.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Three or more years of appropriate experience in journalism or related field;
•Ability to display a nuanced approach to both public relations and journalism, combining marketing savvy and strong reportage.
•Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
•Familiarity with and appreciation for contemporary business culture.
•Familiarity with basic HTML.
