Job DescriptionThe Copywriter provides original ideas to a variety of interactive/online oriented campaigns as well as print marketing efforts. Projects include creating, writing, researching, proofreading and/or contributing to: social media updates, content development for subscriber microsites, writing periodic promotional emails and newsletters, print brochures, video scripts, financial manuscripts, corporate communication and more. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreates content for eblasts, newsletters, websites, microsites, brochures, ads, video scripts, financial articles and other related informative, marketing and promotional materials.Works closely with the Digital Marketing team to ensure we’re fully leveraging the websites for maximum impact/results.Translates concepts for all audiences: internal team, agents/advisors, subscribers and end user (consumer).Researches industry hot topics and copy, proofreads and fact-checks copy as needed; Consults with marketing or business development department and/or agent/advisors to obtain information on product or service and discuss style and length of advertising copy.Maintains brand integrity in voice and content.Performs ongoing rewrites of copy as required.Participates in the planning, development and creation of creative concepts.This list is not all inclusive. A.) in Journalism, English, Communications, Advertising Media or other relevant field and three to five years related copywriting experience. Excellent writing skills in a broad range of styles including grammar and proofreading skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management, peers and customers is required. Must demonstrate an extensive knowledge of virtual communities and social media practices. Previous experience with creating and implementing SEO/Search Marketing Strategy and a strong knowledge of financial products, financial industry’s current markets and translating financial ideas into readable lay terms is desired.
