Full Time seeks a proven, exceptional Conditions Editor to join our growing team that is transforming us into the No. 1 source for news, information and community on health topics ranging from heart disease to medical miracles to how the latest studies improve our daily lives.

The Conditions Editor covers many topics but must be the in-house expert on assigned topics. The Conditions Editor is responsible for making his/her particular sections the definitive digital resource for news and information on these conditions. S/he will achieve this by cultivating a network of freelancers, bloggers and experts with substantial social followings to contribute to the site; actively participating on external social networks and sites relevant to his/her assigned conditions and distributing Everyday Health content with the goal of increasing referring visits; as well as making assignments or occasionally reporting in those topic areas. In other words, the Conditions Editor is expected to use all available avenues (, community, social media, mobile, video, and other emerging platforms with a specific emphasis on SEO) to create the largest possible community of interest around his/her specific conditions.

The Conditions Editor reports to the Executive Editor/Conditions. The successful candidate will have a proven background in digital journalism -- ideally, health journalism. S/he must be passionate about medicine, health, and wellness and must possess a great nose for news; superb reporting, writing, editing and display-copy skills; solid connections among writers and health experts (and a fearlessness about establishing new ones); and an interest in engaging with users about their health concerns. The successful candidate must have demonstrated skills in harnessing the power of social media (especially Facebook and Twitter) to drive traffic. In addition to the foregoing, Conditions Editors are regularly asked to conceive and spearhead new initiatives in mobile, social, video and other emerging platforms; thus, a strategic mindset is critical. The successful candidate has a strong understanding of digital performance metrics and the ability to use them to inform daily programming and traffic goals; is comfortable in a fast-paced, creative environment that requires meticulous attention to detail; is able to multi-task in pursuit of tight deadlines; possesses a willingness to take on new responsibilities; and has the ability to nimbly shift priorities in response to changing market conditions.
