Conceive, research, and write or edit 3-5 departments and features per issue. Also assist with digital editions and special projects, such as SIPs, videos, and publicity.

Essential Job Functions

40Edit front of book departments
25Assign and edit full-length stories
15Generate story ideas and attend story idea meetings; do follow-up research and/or writing, as requested
10Work on digital editions, website, and digital extensions
10Assist with special projects, including but not limited to SIPs, videos, publicity, and licensing projects

Minimum Qualifications:
All must be met to be considered.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:
Minimum two years experience writing or editing for a media brand.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Must be an excellent team player with strong people skills.
Must possess the ability to adapt to changing situations and help solve problems.
Must be able to multitask and be detail oriented.
Must be willing to regularly interact and brainstorm with the editorial staff.
Must be able to set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must be Mac-literate; knowledge of Adobe InDesign and InCopy a plus.
