News consumers are demanding more from their news experience. They expect an intelligent, holistic view of news, one that includes the most compelling elements of a story, regardless of content type.

Reuters News Agency is looking for an innovative product manager who can make this holistic view happen for its agency business. The ideal candidate will help develop and execute a metadata strategy, identify potentially useful content for agency customers out of our existing data and content, oversee analytics and help administrate select media products and support the sales team.

Candidate must be suitable to work directly with multimillion-dollar clients. This is a newly-created role that demonstrates our commitment to packaged and related content for our customers.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities
• Will help develop and execute a metadata strategy for media products.
• Write technical/functional requirements defining media product metadata and analytics.
• Become an expert on Thomson Reuters content and data that is not produced by editorial and sits outside of that group. (Content marketplace, datascope etc.)
• Must work across the organization and multiple content types to implement customer-focused metadata strategy that integrates with existing metadata schemas within Thomson Reuters.
• Will work on analytics tools – existing and on developing new tools to measure customer usage and to identify premium content and identify business opportunities.
• Work with support, sales, editorial and customers in trouble shooting technical, content and editorial-related problems.
• Aid in quality control: Review content and products to ensure quality is maintained across media products.
• Collaborate with customers, third-party vendors and internal stakeholders. Must have the maturity and poise to interact directly with high-profile multimillion dollar clients.
• Conduct or participate in market and competitive analysis in order to drive the creation and positioning of propositions, products, or services.
• Create/update marketing and training materials for media products.
• Administration of client accounts for media products.
• Maintain a flexible approach, ready to evolve as business needs evolve.
Scope and Impact
• Supports Global multimedia, text and data products and related services that serve agency business.
• Is accountable and may lead others in the contributions for project team or sub team.

Required Skills:
Technical /Professional Skills & Competencies
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Avid interest in news and strong sense of quality content and editorial voice.
• Ability to understand and interpret trends within the media/agency industry.
• Ability to understand and apply technology to product development.
• Fierce in maintaining customer-centric approach.
• Persistence and follow-up: Stamina to see projects through to completion.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.
• Knowledge of existing editorial and media technologies a plus.

Professional Experience
• 5 years + business experience in any of the following areas: Product Management /Administration / Technical / Sales Support
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups
• Skilled in use of Microsoft Excel
• Experience writing comprehensive business and functional requirements
• News and Media industry experience preferred.
