Department Overview:
The National Marketing team works closely with producers and WGBH executives to increase the visibility, awareness, and value of WGBH's award-wining productions. National Marketing is responsible for marketing and promotion for all national programming produced and/or presented by WGBH.

Position Overview:
The Account Manager (AM) will lead the development and execution of PR plans for select children’s and/or Lifestyle national programs. Reporting to the Director of National Marketing, the AM will also manage a Senior Account Executive and Assistant Account Executive. Responsibilities include: Manage the client relationship, PR calendar and budget. Lead media relations efforts across all forms of media, including long lead editorial, short-lead press, broadcast, online and social media. Serve as primary point of contact with outside PR firms for certain projects. Establish the digital strategy for each series. Work with various teams across WGBH (including Station Relations, Creative Services, Sponsorship, Major Gifts, Membership, Local Marketing etc.) to develop program materials and PR programs. Actively source and develop relationships with third-party promotional partners. Some travel may also be required.

Responsible for maintaining a working environment that leverages the potential and diversity of the department's entire staff. Skills Required:
Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years experience in public relations, media relations and marketing; experience within the television industry is preferred. Interest in or experience with PBS programming, entertainment, publishing is an asset. Experience should ideally include broadcast, online and social media campaigns. Must be comfortable managing fast-moving, detailed projects on time and budget. Solid writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills required, as are superior verbal and organizational skills. Demonstrated leadership ability working with the public and press is essential -as well as in meeting the demands of multiple, complex projects under the pressures of tight deadlines and fixed budgets. Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and an extensive attention to detail are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Mac-based programs, familiarity and passion for new/emerging technologies and design processes and print production required. References and a relevant portfolio of work will be requested at time of interview.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or higher.
