Interactive Services Project Director
Position: Interactive Services Project DirectorDepartment: Interactive & Digital ServicesReports to: SVP, Interactive & DigitalDate: October 2012Position Position Summary:The Interactive/Social Media services group at the Ad Council partners with social media and web development agencies to develop and manage the social media and online strategies, content, and online components for our campaigns and the Ad Council brand. Efforts range from short term social media/pr efforts to fully integrated campaigns that include a web site, branded content, facebook applications, twitter programs and additional components of robust social media programs. Overall Responsibilities:The Interactive Services Project Director will develop, lead and manage the web services team and position the department and the Ad Council as a leader in the digital arena that can provide best-in-class digital solutions for our sponsors and Ad Council. •Collaborate with internal digital/social media staff to identify potential areas of growth•Collaborate with the campaign management team and sponsors to evaluate and develop strategic direction and recommendations for each project and establish and document the scope and processes.•Manage and collaborate with the interactive/web/social media development teams to ensure the success of each project. This would include developing and presenting the project plan to sponsors, conducting regular status meetings, initiating planning and review meetings, being proactive and continually seeking new and innovative ways to enhance the web presence of our campaigns.•Collaborate with the Public Relations team to develop and integrate social media programs with the sponsor’s online presence and make recommendations for new strategies to engage audiences in our campaign messages•Oversight of Ad Council’s corporate website, www.adcouncil.org and the Ad Council Brand in the social media space (www.facebook.com/adcouncil and www.twitter.com/adcouncil). Coordinate with PR on all online publications. Evaluate impact and effectiveness of these communications tools and make strategic recommendations for enhancements and improvements; Other Functions:•Develop relationships with leading web development and social media partners best suited to our goals and campaign messages.•Collaborating with SVP to develop department budgets related to web development jobs, internal and campaign related. Minimum Job Requirements: Education - Bachelor’s DegreeExperience - 5 plus years experience managing web/online development projects Specific Skills•The successful candidate for this role will be proactive, analytical, organized, and exhibit excellent communications and presentation skills. •Prior digital agency experience is essential with a strong working knowledge of social media. •Must be willing to research and learn new technologies and how they will impact our industry and specifically our sponsors•Strong facilitation, team building and issue resolution skills.•Ability to solve problems and work independently of direct supervisor •Sense of urgency/time management •Excellent organizational skills and management of details •Experience working in a team-oriented, collaboration environment •Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to work well with a proven record of working cooperatively and flexibly as part of a team.•Strong analytical skills and experience evaluating digital marketing activities and results.
