Your tasks
The Assistant Director, Marketing supports marketing efforts for the Random House and Spiegel & Grau imprints. This role manages assigned titles and coordinates all aspects of campaigns including advertising, promotion, and point-of-sale. The Assistant Director also:

- Assists in the creation, implementation, and execution of assigned marketing campaigns ensuring all aspects of a campaign are completed on time and within budget

- Conceptualizes and facilitates the creation of related marketing materials including the timing and messaging of ads, sales materials, and digital assets etc.

- Meets regularly with authors and manages those relationships throughout the publishing process: providing regular updates on marketing efforts, offering digital /social media consultation, consumer insights, and sales information.

- Establishes new partnerships and pursues opportunities both online and offline to increase the visibility of our books.

- Coordinates with the Publicity department to synchronize pre-publication strategy and engineer book launches, plan special events (that require marketing involvement) and raise awareness both with the trade and with consumers

- Manages all aspects of online marketing including: websites/digital platform (including major author and book sites and campaign landing pages) social media engagement and growth, and SEO (both paid and organic)


Our requirements
This position requires a bachelor?s degree and 6 years of marketing experience, preferably in the book publishing industry. Candidates must demonstrate initiative and ingenuity in finding vehicles for meeting personal, departmental and/or Company goals. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, is highly organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
