We are seeking a Communications Specialist for the Graphics area of the Publishing department.

Writing, editing and proofreading marketing copy for all print and digital mediums. READ Design Studio and customer service support. Solicit testimonials and translate member/customer insights into actionable marketing approaches and product development ideas.

Serves as the first point of contact for customer service issues not handled by our fulfillment company. Some administrative support. Assistance in the ALA Store at meetings and annual conferences.

Requirements: Bachelors degree. Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in communications, marketing or related area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven experience with marketing copy creation (copywriting, content creation, editing, proofreading). Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Photoshop Elements. Knowledge of HTML (Dreamweaver or other program) preferred.

Some travel required to association conferences.

Starting Salary from the high thirties; negotiable based on experience. ALA offers an excellent benefit package including, medical/dental insurance, retirement annuity, and generous paid vacation.
