The Department of Writing, Literature and Publishing seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Magazine Publishing to teach a range of magazine publishing courses. The initial appointment is for the 2013–14 academic year beginning August 28, 2013.

The college seeks a passionate, dedicated magazine professional committed to teaching multiple aspects of magazine publishing to undergraduate and graduate students who will become leaders in the publishing industry. The candidate should have a masters degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience), familiarity with developing technologies as they relate to magazine publishing, experience with both print and online publishing, and the ability to develop new courses reflecting an evolving industry. The candidate should present evidence of successful teaching inside or outside the academy. Significant professional magazine experience, including writing, is preferred. Applicants with experience at emerging or innovative publications are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Writing, Literature and Publishing (WLP) offers four degree programs: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Arts in Publishing and Writing, and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Publishing courses are a feature of both the undergraduate and M.A. programs. Alumni from our programs go on to enter the publishing world in a range of positions and fields.
