The Senior Manager Client Solutions reports to the department Director and is accountable for helping to drive revenue via the effective management of a team, (Project Manager & Project Lead), focused on the development of creative best-in-class multi-platform advertiser solutions that strategically support key advertiser objectives throughout key Sales periods and leverage the content equity of USA TODAY and Gannett.Sr. Manager must be mindful of industry planning and client sales cycles. Own process from brainstorm/ideation through program approvals, to overall pitch writing and presentation. Must collaborate with all Client Solutions team members, Sales, Research, Editorial, et al to develop new or customize existing opportunities based on meetings and/or RFPs.



Responsibilities:



Learn and understand businesses of assigned categories that include, but are not limited to Financial, Automotive and, Gas/Oil. Develop on-strategy Client Solutions that leverage the content equity of USA TODAY and - as appropriate - Gannett. Collaborate with all team members including those focused on content as well as with research, marketing, and creative to deliver solutions that are aligned with client budget, brand, timing, and objective and are executible. Confidently convey ideas and opportunities via self produced proposals and presentations that are timely professional & cogent.



Accountable for team performance. Must oversee and guide team to insure proper tracking of projects including RFP's and status updates - facilitate workload management and the smooth transition of sold opportunities to the Execution team. Accountable for development of team members including coaching, feedback, reviews and - if necessary - discipline.





Lead creative ideation, brainstorming and strategy sessions with internal and external clients. Lead the definition and development of big ideas for creatively driven sales presentations and pitches, - unconventional strategic thinking that drives revenue is encouraged.



Work with department Director, Sales and direct reports to provide constant and actionable feedback to those team members foucsed on Content and the Merchandising/Mobile/Execution team re: client needs and agency insights. Act on requests from Content focused team to gather insights needed for upcoming content proposals or ideas for tentpole packages or potential franchise positions. It is expected that innovative, timely and executable revenue driving concepts and proposals will come from this process.



Requirements:

BA or BS from an accredited college or university
7-10 years directly related Integrated Media Sales Marketing experience -Management experience -Extensive knowledge of media industry, entertainment landscape, integrated marketing & solutions, television, digital, print and social media -Experience working in Marketing at a large, multi-dimensional company across multiple brands -Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written presentation skills
Extensive knowledge of/experience with media specifically (Cable & Broadcast, Digital, Social & Mobile platforms) and with Financial industry in general. Print experience helpful but not necessary.
Demonstrated expertise of developing cross-platform opportunities that drive revenue via alignment with corporate revenue and overall Sales goals. Must posses a keen understanding of the media business, of Ad Sales and must also have a respect for content and the creative/editorial process.
Must be team-oriented, collaborative and have the ability to drive an agenda forward while also balancing needs of multiple conflicting stakeholders.
This position has two direct reports but must also be able to inspire others to do what is needed through their own passion for the business, inspiration and vision.
