There are a lot of internships that allow you to learn the ropes, but only a few that provide you the grounds to make a difference. The Public Relations internship at Quirky is one of those unique opportunities.

This is an internship for a rising star, with the drive to have an immediate impact, pickup new skills and jump right in to self-manage projects that are both great for your resume and also for Quirky.


We’re Quirky. Seriously. The name of our company is Quirky. Quirky implements a unique approach to product development: with the help of hundreds of thousands of community members from all around the world, we design and launch new consumer products/inventions each week.


You have an interest in the media and are obsessed with reading the news.
You’re a multi-tasker: Taking on one project at a time is boring. You can handle a heavy workload and thrive in busy situations.
You can write. Typos drive you crazy and you have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
You love the web. You know about the newest sites and have an opinion on whether they will succeed or fail.
You make good decisions and work independently.
You take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
You possess and have demonstrated your skills in: Critical thinking, analysis, and strong organizational skills.

You are self-motivated and are able to set priorities in order to meet critical deadlines.

Support the Public Relations team with online contact research, copy writing, special events, and social media needs.
Seek out and join online conversations about invention and products.
Constant searching for related news articles and keeping abreast of changes in the marketplace.
Daily press clipping research, monitoring and archiving.
Maintain database of media contacts.
Work with PR team to fulfill product requests and keep inventory of new products.
Share your ideas of where/how our team can positively impact the company’s goals.
PR or Journalism experience is a plus.
Basic knowledge of Excel is a must.
