Amazon Web Services New Initiatives team is looking for ONE exceptional Web Developer. Are you the ONE? This is a ground floor, cutting edge opportunity for an exceptional candidate to help create a new website ground-up. We're looking for someone with unparalleled knowledge in current web development technologies who can thrive in a heterogeneous environment of different languages and technologies. You will work very closely with engineers, designers and artists from inception through delivery on a world class application.

This position is based out of Palo Alto, where the entire team will be located.

  • Experience developing AJAX interfaces with AJAX libraries and frameworks (e.g. DOJO, JQuery, etc.)
  • Proficiency using modern web development technologies and techniques, including JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS (cross-browser support), Responsive Design, web services, etc.
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience with MVC frameworks like Struts or Spring desired
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Perl, PHP, Ruby) desired
  • Passion for creating efficient, scalable, highly usable web interfaces
  • Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum preferable)
  • Experience with Unix/Linux desired
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented design
  • Understanding of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, JSON, WSDL, XSD, and REST.
