Top national sports website seeks an innovative editorial product manager to join our team of digital journalists. You are more hacker than hack, but definitely have some of both in your DNA. This position requires a digital native with strong management, technical and production skills, significant experience with digital content creation, editing and curation, and a background in developing creative and compelling online tools, products and features. The ideal candidate is tech and social-media savvy, understands and excels at audience development, works well as part of a small team and knows and follows a wide variety of sports. This person wants to help us grow our audience by building amazing story-telling tools. NB: This is not a writing position.

Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
•Running site homepage and overseeing all technical aspects of site production
•Editing and producing articles and features, selecting photos, writing headlines, teases and captions
•Collaborating with developers and designers to develop new content and treatments for stories and other site enhancements
•Sending news alerts through various channels, including e-mail, SMS, push alerts, etc.
•Helping to grow audience by connecting our content with user groups who will react to it, via social media and other forms of outreach
•Collaborating and brainstorming with fellow editors and writers on new site features
•Brainstorming and executing video, audio and other multimedia projects to enhance the user experience
•Posting and interacting with readers using various social media; being well-versed in proper engagement on SM platforms

Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Three to five years in a fast-paced digital media environment
•Experience producing and editing content; capable of leading all site production
•Very comfortable using Photoshop and various photo and news wire services
•Solid understanding of HTML and HTML editing software, such as Dreamweaver or Homesite
•Significant experience working with a CMS
•Strong knowledge of SEO strategies
•Comfort with using analytics to help dictate direction of the site
•An eye for innovative marketing strategies and opportunities
•Experience editing sports content and using AP Stylebook
•Excellent headline, tease and caption-writing skills
•Sound news judgment; knowing what stories are worthy of being featured in key spots; ability to capably select relevant content to enhance the site
•Experience working with podcasts/audio and video; familiarity with Final Cut Pro a plus
•Flexible schedule and ability/willingness to work remotely -- can update the site when needed, including nights and weekends
•Solid producing, editing and technical skills
•Ability to work well with others
