SUCCESS magazine is looking for a brilliant Editorial Assistant for its online editorial department, SUCCESS.com. This position could be considered a hybrid between an editorially-minded administrative assistant and an administratively-minded beginning staff writer. Must have impeccable time-management and organizational skills. Excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, proofreading skills.Bachelor’s degree required, communications or journalism degree preferred. Minimum one year experience (college paper and internships ok) in print or online journalism. Must have reliable transportation. Essential job junctions include:1.Support online editorial staff with scheduling interviews, answering reader email and corresponding with writers/contributors 2.Compile newsletter content, and edit content as needed3.Fact check and update previously published articles4.Post blogs onto the SUCCESS Blog with WordPress5.Post videos onto the SUCCESS Video site with WordPress6.Load articles into our Content Management System with e-Publishing7.Perform basic SEO processes such as cross linking to related content, rewriting headlines for web8.Possess a grace-under-fire personality that does not require constant direction, but is nonetheless eager for more responsibility9.Pitch in as needed for various components of SUCCESS.com, including but not limited to scanning press releases for newsworthiness, rewriting press release content for news briefs on SUCCESS.com and other tasks as neededThis is a full-time position on site in our Lake Dallas office.
