Senior Sales Manager – Ascend - Business Information Sales Latin America - New York

Department & Location
Working in our New York office and reporting to the Head of Information Services, US, you will develop business within airlines, aerospace and manufacturing clients from the MRO (maintenance repair & overhaul), aftermarket and parts supply sectors, government and airport authorities within Latin America. It is essential to have thorough knowledge of business operations within these sectors in order to communicate with C-level decision makers.


- Expanding and rapidly growing Flightglobal/Ascend’s client base in the region
- Selling business information and consulting at different steps along the value chain
- Developing a sales network by conducting business development calls and arranging client meetings
- Managing short and long term sales cycles through to completion

- An exceptional understanding of the sales process as well as a demonstrable ability to uncover customers’ needs and establish value
- An ability to build strong business relationships with clients up to a board level
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills required in English, strong proficiency in Portuguese and Spanish required
- Superior cold calling skills and a talent for creating new business opportunities
- High degree of self-motivation, energy and ambition with the ability to work independently
- Professional attitude and excellent presentation skills
- Flexible and imaginative approach to challenges of reaching a global prospect base
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and a capacity to use complex software products.
- Willingness to travel to region regularly required


- Sales background in online financial services provider highly preferred (selling data subscriptions)
- Proven track record in creating and managing a new business pipeline essential
- Experience in developing new markets and building contact networks required
- Familiarity with airline fleet planning and financing, commercial development of airports including increasing airline traffic and understanding of government infrastructure within Latin America strongly preferred
- Experience working within an airline, airport and/or government authority with a commercial aviation/aerospace focus highly useful
- Knowledge of business models and operations of MROs, aftermarket and parts suppliers for the commercial aviation and aerospace industries preferred
- Familiarity with business operations within financial institutions, aircraft lessors useful & familiarity with capital markets important
- Have led a Consulting sales process
