Working closely with an equally senior user experience designer, the Senior Visual Designer will design and execute user interfaces for a range of platforms. They will use their impeccable Photoshop skills and keen understanding of branding and visual design principals to create products and services that eclipse those offered by the competition. Because the candidate will work on creating both forward-thinking design prototypes to drive business strategy, as well as produce and execute on products in the development pipeline, they must have the ability to work fast and smart. They will work side-by-side with product managers and business stakeholders, and will play a central role in developing visual exhibits that drive not only future product and service direction, but also overall business strategy. While the Senior Visual Designer will have key "clients" in the business unit, they will serve as the nucleus of a high performance, highly focused design team whose role is to support all aspects of business.

This person must be detail oriented, organized, and multi-skilled in various aspects of visual design, with a portfolio that demonstrates a range of skills which preferably includes iconography, branding systems, styleguide creation, user interface development, and interaction modeling. The position requires a high level of artistic talent, design sense, and knowledge of trends and techniques in the contemporary web product design. They'll be responsible for planning and executing projects independently, or collaborating with other creative staff, vendors and freelancers -- frequently in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. Preferably, the candidate should have a thorough knowledge and solid skills when it comes to creating, refining, documenting, and curating . Candidate also should have a strong design portfolio that clearly reflects an enlightened understanding of fundamental user interface design techniques and development processes, ideally in relation to application (and not just web) design. Requirements include 4-6 years of experience and a proven track record of innovative design, reflected either in client or personal design work. A degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design is preferred.

• Expert ability to develop well conceived and innovative creative work that addresses business objectives in fresh and inventive ways.

• Proactive creativity when deadlines are distant, and focused, enthusiastic intensity when deadlines are near.

• Ability to effectively lead junior creative staff members, vendors, and freelancers. Providing guidance and mentorship.

• Good conceptual and problem solving skills, particularly within the confines of a branding system.

• Excellent design skills accompanied by the ability to guide and evaluate, and if necessary, redirect creative development.

• Ability to communicate effectively with creative and project management staff, engendering trust and respect.

• Great presentation skills.
