The Integrated Marketing and Promotions department of HarperCollins Children’s Books seeks an Assistant Manager to support the Director of Integrated Marketing and Promotions. This position requires an understanding of advertising/media buying with experience working with an advertising agency on all print and online advertising while being a liaison to Marketing, Editorial, Sales, and Managing Editorial. Must be detail oriented, organized, and have strong multi-tasking ability. This position will have responsibility to manage day-to-day planning and analysis while maintaining strong relationships with publishers and partner agencies



Job Responsibilities:

Advertising
-Manages operations for all ads – create schedules, pull art, send creative brief to agency, communicate all dates/info to marketing, create tracking links and provide creative direction.
-Serves as Subject Matter Expert for Marketing for all advertising issues – recommend placement, evaluate campaign success etc.
-Fields communications from third parties who want us to advertise with them.
-Negotiates partnership contracts with sites as needed.
-Provides post campaign analysis.
-Researches Internet for potential sites.
-Helps develop media plans specifically investigating sites, special opportunities and positions.
-Understands available targeting technologies, rich media capabilities and general activation capabilities of all available digital media tactics.
-Helps supervisor to advise marketing groups on best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing plans.
-Works with supervisor to assure projects are completed on time and adhere to (within) budget.
-Keeps up with the latest trends in media.


Marketing Operations
-Acts as main Managing Editorial contact for galley covers for approvals and quantities.
-Coordinates ordering of galleys/F&Gs for all of HarperCollins Children’s Books.
-Coordinates marketing bullets for back of galleys with Man Ed and Marketing.
-Acts as main contact between Sales and Marketing for videos created by the Marketing Department.
-Oversees creation of E-cards and Back Ads.
-Acts as main contact for Seasonal Audio Recordings.
-Creates list of titles to be included each season and obtain approvals.
-Schedules presentations with Editorial and Authors.
-Fields all editorial questions.

Mailings
-Works with outside mailing house as main contact for all seasonal mailings.
-Works closely with Book Production and Managing Editorial to ensure all materials have arrived at the mailing house for the seasonal mailings.
-Organizes seasonal F&G and galley mailings.
-Makes sure all items are collated in proper order.
-Maintains databases for all mailings.
-Oversees IndieBound Mailing.
-Manages monthly white box and advance access mailings.

Required Skills
-Extremely strong knowledge of interactive marketing
-Experience managing online Display, Paid Search, Social, and Mobile campaigns
-Must be a self-starter, with strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal direction
-Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues and vendors
-Experience managing multiple, competing priorities, duties and/or projects. Proven ability to accommodate evolving responsibilities and last minute changes
-A passion for the digital planning process
-Strong organizational, time management skills and attention to detail
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
-Must be able to work independently and understand the importance of deadlines
-Must possess the skill to set priorities and problem solve
-Strong computer skills necessary with PC and MAC
-Copyediting and writing skills a plus

Required Experience/ Preferred Qualifications
Candidates will have a minimum of 4 to 5 years work experience within the publishing industry, advertising agency or marketing experience preferred
