About the Group
The Huffington Post Media Group Global Strategy, Marketing and Communications group is seeking a talented, eager, and all star paid PR & Communications Intern! The intern will take on many roles within the PR and Marketing world. Candidates will gain exposure to the fast paced, ever-changing news world, as well as work with social media, and numerous media outlets.

Responsibilities include:
•Clipping: Identifying what’s hot in the news on a daily basis. Reading through press publications, blogs, tabloids, our own properties and updating the team of all press events
•Assisting team members in the creation of rundowns and roundups of clips and news pertaining to the Huffington Post initiatives
•Mastering Social Media: Maintaining and tracking social media applications in a strategic manner including Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, Posts etc.
•Assisting with all Media Operations, Event programming, assisting in the creation of convention plans, tracking press,
•Assisting in all initiatives associated with the upcoming launch of the Huffington Post Streaming Network as well as new mobile applications, etc.
•Various projects and research as they arise

Requirements for Success:
•Previous internship experience in a Media Relations and/or PR function required
•Experience at a publisher/media/entertainment/agency strongly preferred
•Qualified candidates are energetic, passionate, positive, and aren’t afraid to dive right in
•Demonstrated interest in news, politics, communications, events, PR and Marketing
•Interns should speak “social media” fluently—such as twitter, facebook, blogging, linkedin and maintain active profiles on many social media platforms
•Confidence with PowerPoint a must
•Excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate must be able to work with all types of people, and all levels of seniority
•Able to work in fast paced, high-stress environments
•Able to work well in a team and independently
•Must be enrolled in an accredited four year University or have graduated no earlier than May 2012

This position is 15-40 hours per week depending on candidate availability. 
Hourly compensation commensurate with experience.
