Role Summary:
Develop software for one of the world’s leading Anti-Spam Systems supporting AOL Mail.  Develop and apply cutting-edge techniques in the fight against spam.  Explore new state-of-the-art technologies.

Requirements:

  • Motivated, career-minded Software Engineer.

  • B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge and experience with classical Computer Science algorithms, data structures, and techniques.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the software engineering field.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in leading the software design for large-scale systems.  Understanding of how to achieve scalability.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in machine learning applications with tools such as Mahout and similar technologies.

  • Strong analytical skills for predicting computing performance and algorithm effectiveness.

  • Strong mathematical background.

  • Ability to understand technical conference research papers and translate them into working application software.

  • Big thinker.

  • Fluent in Java, ‘C’, or other high-level programming languages.

  • Experience with Big Data, NoSQL technologies such as Hadoop or MongoDB.


Desirable but not Required:

  • Programming in MapReduce.

  • Experience in anti-spam applications.
