Job Description:
Pubmark seeks a talented individual to help develop relationships with new book publisher customers. Responsibilities include:

-Identifying and forging relationships with potential publisher clients
-Educating publishers about how BookBub can help them drive sales
-Negotiating agreements with publishers to formalize partnerships
-Gathering publisher feedback to help guide product improvements
-Growing general awareness of BookBub among the publishing industry

Ideal candidates for the position will have:

-Past employment or strong familiarity with the book publishing industry; existing relationships with marketing professionals at publishing firms a major plus
-Previous business development and/or enterprise sales experience
-Outstanding written and verbal communication skills related to developing relationships, presenting marketing materials, and negotiating contracts
-Genuine interest in reading and books, and a strong knowledge of the marketing challenges facing the publishing industry as it transitions to digital
-Experience evangelizing products and/or blogging about industry issues a plus
-Ability to both work independently at a high strategic level, while at the same time carefully managing day-to-day minutia
-Excitement for a fast-paced, rapidly changing start-up environment where work can occasionally get chaotic and be required at off hours
-A Bachelor's degree from a selective college

Although Pubmark is headquartered in Cambridge, MA, the role will require spending a significant amount of time in New York, and as such the individual who fills this role can live in either area.
