Social Media Specialist
Can you Tweet like a Pro? Understand how to reach and persuade bloggers? If you have social media cred and are looking to be part of a fast-paced PR team, we want you! We’re looking for an expert at navigating the online world -- a self-starter comfortable working both independently and in teams to increase online engagement for our agency and our clients.Responsibilities:•Create and develop engaging social media campaigns and content for both our agency and our clients to encourage social interaction and commerce•Understand how to use social media as part of an integrated PR campaign•Design social media platforms to be consistent with brand•Research social media landscape and digital trends and incorporate the most relevant for agency and clients•Pitch bloggers using traditional techniques as well other social media distribution•Assist with internal/external marketing efforts and maintain and monitor content creation for social media•Proactively develop new strategies to raise online visibility•Incorporate social media tactics into our existing broadcast PR model to increase awareness of our clients’ products/messages across all social media platforms•Design elements for internal use and for clients including online radio promotions and contests•Help maintain and refresh internal website as well as develop strategies that will further optimize the agency’s online presence through search engine and website optimization, audio and video, social network pages and blogsRequirements:•Three to five (3-5) years experience in the PR/communications field with a focus in social media or media relations preferably for consumer goods and services•Out-of-the-box thinking•Strong verbal, written and technical communication skills•Ability to find solutions to challenging situations•Understanding of SEO and how to apply it to a digital campaign•Solid traditional media relations skills•Ability to prioritize, attention to detail and handle multiple assignments/projects•Proven social media background including the innovative and professional use of digital tactics•Proficient in major social media and online tools, including Twitter, Facebook, Wordpress, RSS feeds, video sharing sites like YouTube and Vimeo•Understanding of online etiquette and experience in posting professional content•Working knowledge of HTML, website development, graphic design, video editing and shooting skills a plus•Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, llustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash, Fireworks, Contribute a plusSalary plus benefits at top 20 marcomm firm in DC.
