Cambridge University Press seeks to appoint a Director to head the Cambridge Journals group in the Americas and to grow its business. This position will be based in our New York office, and report directly to the Managing Director, Journals.

Responsible for developing and maximizing journals acquisitions and sales activity in the Americas and the supporting resources (staff, systems) within the Journals group, the Journals Director will:

- coordinate and lead on major bids for new business, and perform the senior lead for key society publishing relations.
- manage and resource the growth plans for the Journals business, and be responsible for analyzing/reviewing all aspects of Journals operational activity
- be the line manager for the sales, marketing, editorial and production functions within the group
- complete annual budget setting and monthly reporting of business performance
- provide input into new business opportunities product development and services
- focus on South America as a growth opportunity

Requirements include:
- 10 years of journals publishing experience including senior level experience, preferably in STM publishing
- Experience of successfully leading, managing and developing publishing teams
- Financially sophisticated and have held P&L responsibility
- Be able to demonstrate a track record of meeting and exceeding targets
- Be fully engaged in the challenges and opportunities within the academic, scientific and wider markets in which Cambridge operates
