Digital Media Planner
iCrossing, a leading search digital marketing agency, is searching for a motivated individual to join our SF Digital Media team as a Media Planner.The Media Planner builds on the skills of the Junior Media Planner and continues to perform those duties as necessary. The position evolves to include specific responsibilities for management of increasingly complex accounts, direction of Assistant Media Planner, development of Objectives and Strategies and quality control. The position evolves to include specific responsibilities for management of increasingly complex accounts, direction of Assistant Media Planner, development of Objectives and Strategies and quality control.Media SkillsReviews media brief and sets planning process in motion Directs assistant media planner in research required for planning processDirects and assists assistant media planner throughout RFP processEngages and works with Analytics team for any tagging/reporting requirementsFilters research findings and converts to actionable media insightsDevelops media objectives and strategy document based on client brief and proposed media solutionsReviews RFPs and filters for most suitable proposalsMaster of media math and how to apply calculations; proficiency in working with and managing numbersDevelops initial plans for more complex clients Manages negotiation for plan rates and packagesManages negotiation for research impression requirements, if neededSupports the needs of Media Supervisor and/or AMDEnsures Client Media Authorizations are completed and signedEnsures accuracy and quality of all campaign documentation including insertion orders, trafficking sheets and termsPresents plans to Ad Ops and Reporting teams to ensure thorough understanding of Media’s needsStewards media buys in market to assure continuity and campaign delivery Proposes optimization recommendations, in partnership with Analytics if necessary Project ManagementCreate and maintain detailed/accurate files for each client for whom you are responsibleDemonstrates highly organized campaign/timeline management, with strong attention to detailAssists in the QA of ads placed Communication SkillsAbility to communicate owned areas of campaigns, both orally and in writingActive participant in sales representative meetingsEvolves relationships with sales community Client ManagementAttends client meetings, and presents plan elementsOn point to liaise between client, project management, and analytics/trafficking Teamwork/People/Corporate CitizenshipPositively participates in team environmentGives and receives critical feedback gracefullyBuilds relationships with relevant partners in agencyPositive spokesperson for the agencyFlexible and adaptable to changing needs of client/department/agency Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience* 2.5 - 5 years of experience in field of online advertising, preferably in an Assistant or Junior Media Planner role* Experience working specifically within a digital media department* Passion for digital marketing* Detail oriented and organized* Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and with general Web based interfaces* Experience working with DART for Advertisers or other relevant 3rd party adservers* Knowledge of campaign set up, reporting interfaces. * Strong excel skills, ability to manipulate pivot tables and v lookups. * Comfortable speaking directly with clients and managing direct client deliverables.
