New Media Coordinator
This position will coordinate new media efforts within the Met’s communications and marketing program for the extension of the Museum’s broad messaging related to news, exhibitions, programs, events, and other areas. This will include creation of digital resources and online posts for delivery of information to journalists; coordination with the Digital Media department and other departments related to email blasts and social media messages to inform press and public of Museum news and announcements; preparation of summary media coverage reports; and assistance in the creation of informational materials for journalists in audio, video, and other formats. It will also assist with the advertising and marketing program, where the Museum increasingly produces online advertising, and where the Museum must enhance its ad placements with digital elements.Primary Responsibilities and Duties:•Assist with the creation of digital materials for the Press Room section of the Museum’s website and for direct distribution to journalists•Create digital media add-ons and initiatives related to the Museum’s advertising program•Cross-promote and cross-market digital strategies with other Museum departments and organizations•Assist the Museum’s advertising agency in creating digital elements or add-ons related to advertising campaigns•Collaborate with other departments within the Museum (Digital Media, Membership, Merchandising, etc.) for branding consistency and coordination•Other related dutiesExperience and Skills:•2 to 5 years of strong experience in and familiarity with digital marketing and publicity•Experience working in an arts organization preferred•Experience with generating and administering social media and other digital content and marketing•Advertising experience desirableKnowledge and Education:•B.A. required•Strong knowledge of and familiarity with digital mediaPlease send cover letter, resume, and salary history to firstname.lastname@example.org as a Word attachment only with the position title in the subject line.
