Full Time is looking for a talented, smart, and entrepreneurial Buyer to help us to build and manage robust relationships with key fashion and lifestyle brands. The Buyer will create a turnkey way to manage excess inventory and connect with potential new customers. The position is located in New York City. The Buyer will also be responsible for managing a set of categories within their segment (including reporting, driving unit, revenue and margin growth), partnering with top tier brands to identify potential selection and excess inventories, negotiating pricing, coordinating sales events, providing brands with a sales recap and maintaining an on-going relationship.

We expect the Buyer to be a passionate customer and category advocate, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task. The Buyer must be an effective negotiator, leader and communicator in working with some of MYHABIT's most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail, a high level of flexibility, commitment, and a sense of humor.

The successful Buyer must be able to:
  • Act as the ‘business owner' for his or her manufacturer/brand partners as well as for his or her product categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business

  • 3+ years of experience in buying within a retail company
  • 2+ years negotiation experience required
  • BA/BS required
  • Proven analytical skills
  • e-commerce experience
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Knowledge and/or previous experience within the fashion industry
