ACS Publications is looking for a Junior to Mid-Level Web Associate with 3-5 years of experience who is looking for an exciting new opportunity to utilize their skills in HTML, Javascript coding and user experience and usability best practices.

This is an entry- to mid-level position requiring XML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, and HTML, including HTML 5 knowledge. Understanding of web content management best practices, UI design and usability, information architecture, user experience, and programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite and social media tools are a must. Work with a variety of content formats including multimedia, such as video and podcasts. Additionally, the incumbent must share a willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively with other members of the Web Innovation team and colleagues within the Sales & Marketing group. Major components of a work week include updates and corrections to journal pages, resolution of requests submitted by the Help Desk, assistance with the creation of new websites that promote ACS products, and coordination with various other ACS groups/stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from marketing concept to technology implementation.

College degree or equivalent experience or formal training 3 years or more of experience; an advanced degree may be substituted for work experience. Strong working knowledge of the following is required: HTML, DHTML, XML, XHTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite, content management tools, scripting languages, and/or generating web files from a database. Thorough knowledge of current best practices regarding user experience and usability, web page design and development is prefered. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Project management experience and experience with Web Content Management Systems, open source social media tools, and FreeMarker preferred.
