AOL is looking for a recent graduate for a FULL TIME internship to assist the Strategic Sales Team (Tech/Telcom). This is an opportunity for someone to learn about the sales process, with a focus on pre-sales: research, preparation, proposal development. Also presents an opportunity to hone public speaking/presenting skills and knowledge of research tools. 

Responsible for the pre-sale and post-sale process with National Advertisers- includes teaming with regional/category sales professionals on all assigned accounts to drive additional revenue and overachieve on the team’s goals. Ensure client satisfaction and AOL Advertising’s business health through custom campaign strategies; analyze deal or campaign performance; develop innovative alternatives to existing deals or campaigns; and communicate with partners and appropriate internal departments on these initiatives.

Works with sales professionals to develop proposals, provide deal evaluation, sales negotiations, revisions and follow- up

Input RFP responses into internal systems, client external templates and third party planning systems

Effectively optimizes campaign performance by recommending adjustments to inventory and creative components of the campaign

Responsible for day- to-day communication with internal customers to monitor campaign delivery and contract compliance, ensuring full revenue recognition and client objectives success

Track and analyze usage trends and prepares sales and internal reports

Utilize third-party research tools to support plan recommendations and provide competitive spending analysis


Candidate MUST be able to work 40hrs/week M-F; Recent 2012 graduates preferred

Previous internship experience in marketing or sales highly preferred (working for school paper counts!)

You communicate well both verbally and in black and white

You love breaking down problems and thinking through creative solutions

This internship is 40hrs/week.  Competitive hourly compensation commensurate with experience.
