The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for optimizing content across all of Library Journal, School Library Journal, and The Horn Book's digital channels, including web sites, emails, and social media platforms, while ensuring each brand's identified keywords rank high on search engines. This Specialist will work closely with the editorial and marketing teams to ensure maximum integration of print and digital content, live and virtual events, using insights from analytics to ensure maximum leverage for audience development and/or conversion to sales.
This role is a critical component of our digital growth strategy, and as such requires a high degree of proactive energy, creative thinking, and a continual pursuit of excellence.

Primary Responsibilities
•Manage SEO strategies and implementations to ensure each brand's identified keywords rank high on key search engines (i.e. Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.)
•Work collaboratively with editorial and marketing staff in editing and re-writing Web and email copy that reflects accurate messaging and best practices for page and site navigation, search engine and keyword optimization, subject lines and calls-to-action
•Use insights from analytics to improve Web and email content and ensure maximum leverage for audience development and/or conversion to sales
•Work with web development team to ensure implementation of search engine optimization recommendations on all websites
•Develop and manage SEM campaigns as directed to ensure maximum ROI based on revenue and/or audience development goals
•Support web development team to ensure timely and effective deployments of editorial and marketing emails as needed

Position Requirements:
•Solid Dreamweaver, HTML and basic CSS skills
•Solid Wordpress knowledge
•Familiarity with Google Analytics and basic SEO concepts
•Familiarity with eNewsletter deployment platforms and clients desired.
•Basic Photoshop and image manipulation skills desired.
•Ability to manage and prioritize many tasks in a fast-paced environment.
•Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
