Growing company is searching for a talented editor to tackle its day-to-day editorial workload and help build a creative brand. Ideally, you’ll be an excellent writer with an endless supply of ideas. You’ll understand what makes the brand unique, and be able to bring your own voice to our editorial direction. You will assign, edit, and shape content for a digital daily magazine focused on business, culture, and politics, as well as for our quarterly magazine, and our annual conference.The ideal candidate will help in creating original content for the brand’s website, writing marketing copy, generating press content and email blasts, and acting as a brand guardian and ambassador. Candidate will generate ideas for the brand’s conferences and events; and develop innovative ways to increase our presence via our social media pages. Applicants should be familiar with the gay community and be aware of both the established and emerging talent. This candidate will be responsible for writing a number of features per week, and will be expected to source a team of online writers, discover new feature writers and columnists, and develop new contacts within the community.The ideal candidate has:• At least five years proven copy-editing experience – print or online• fastidiousness about grammar, spelling, syntax and rhythm• The versatility to write for print, web, marketing emails and social media platforms – and an understanding of what makes them different• A gift for catchy and engaging headlines• Creative flair, good general knowledge, and a never-ending stash of ideas• Proven SEO experience• Familiarity with html, Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress and IllustratorIt will be a demanding role, but you’ll have a dynamic, friendly team to work with, and the chance to make a genuine creative difference.
