Billboard is seeking an Assistant Photo Editor for its New York office. This individual will aid the art director of the site by managing photos as assigned, help in the production of special photo features, maintain the upkeep of photo sections of the site, and contribute innovative content ideas. Additionally, the person will be responsible for liaising with wire services used by Billboard.


-- Handle photo production across the site

-- Create and curate special photo features for timely events

-- Liaise with Getty images and other photo agencies used by Billboard

-- Help manage photo shoots in the Billboard studio

-- Help to manage staff of freelance photographers


-- Ability to research and cut photos quickly and accurately.

-- Extensive familiarity with music and photo publications and websites worldwide.

-- Extremely conformable with Photoshop and other major photo editing software

-- Familiarity with all types of popular music, particularly pop, hip-hop/R&B, rock and alternative genres

-- Knowledge and understanding of major web publishing.


-- 1 year photo editing experience, preferably with a daily, weekly, or major web publication or wire service with a focus on entertainment/pop culture.

-- Undergraduate degree in photography, art or a related field preferred.
