POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for identifying new product opportunities, and driving the positioning, messaging, pricing, online sales, and direct sales tools development for World Book’s commercial and direct to consumer offerings, as well as, leading strategic online direct response. In this role you will utilize your product marketing expertise across multiple platforms. This position will provide an outstanding opportunity to develop and implement strategic initiatives that acquire new customers for World Book’s various consumer ventures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Plan and execute product marketing activities. Create product marketing plans, which include market segmentation, positioning, packaging, and pricing alternatives.
2. Assess and monitor market trends to initiate product ideas and identify growth areas for the consumer market. Plan and execute detailed product launch plans. Develop market requirements and ensure they are represented in product roadmaps and releases. Actively seek relevant information to improve product mix and market share.
3. Design and execute direct marketing tests, create test matrices, determine segmentation and targeting strategies, writing copy, determining offers.
4. Drive outbound email and advertising strategies for awareness, acquisition, retention, and upgrade existing customers to new products.
5. Create product collateral to support outbound communication, demand generation, and sales efforts.
6. Ensure that efforts deliver against consumer marketing/product strategy and are both on-time and on-budget. Perform ongoing forecasting, tracking, ad results analysis to determine ROI on all consumer marketing efforts.
7. Effectively partner with cross-functional teams (product/project management, engineering and sales) to drive successful soup-to-nuts campaign generation and execution to ensure online sales goals are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication Arts, English or related discipline with 3-5 years consumer marketing/product experience. Experience in an educational publishing environment desired.
2. Creative, enthusiastic, self-starter, and results-oriented with proven record of meeting and exceeding ROI goals. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to tight deadlines.
3. Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be a team player with the ability to coordinate people and activities across multiple departments.
4. Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Basic knowledge of html and xml.
