We are looking for a Classified Sales Representative whose primary function will be to sell print and digital classified advertising in a call center environment. The Sales Representative will be expected to drive new business development through outbound telemarketing efforts against specific categories and geographic territories as well as maximizing revenues of inbound leads. He/she will also be responsible for working with field office team members to facilitate pricing and proposals in order to ensure excellent customer service for our contract clients.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Sell advertising insertions and campaigns into the Wall Street Journal's suite of print and digital products based on assigned categories and geographic territories.

  • Initiate, manage and grow short and long term business to meet personal and team goals through both inbound and outbound sales efforts.

  • Deliver clear and articulate advertising recommendations to clients, in both verbal and written form.

  • Develop strong relationships with clients to keep advertisers committed to WSJ products. 

  • Work closely with an assigned team offering extended services (pricing, proposals, and customer service) to our large clients and prospects in major markets.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of advertising principles, ability to overcome sales objections, and a thorough knowledge of telephone selling techniques. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 

  • Strong organizational and technical skills, ability to work independently and as a part of a team on multiple projects and assignments. 

  • Two or more years of selling experience.

  • Extensive PC experience with MS Office and database software knowledge a plus as candidate will need to work in multiple program and window environments (Work in SFDC, , Dashboard, E2, MACTIVE and Windows programs - Word, Excel and Powerpoint). 

  • College Degree preferred.
