Forbes Media Corporate Communications is seeking a Senior Manager of Editorial Publicity, reporting to the SVP of Corporate Communications.

The core function of the Senior Manager is to generate publicity for original content on forbes.com as well as key Forbes franchises and brand extensions, and leverage social media for promotional purposes. The right candidate will be self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills, have strong relationships with consumer, trade, online, entertainment and TV press, have a deep understanding of social media, and have the ability to work on multiple ongoing projects and meet deadlines.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Execute publicity efforts on behalf of Forbes.com, including brand extensions such as Forbes SportsMoney and Forbes Galleries, and manage global media outreach for all original online content (articles, lists and packages).
• Pitch Forbes editors and reporters to the press around specific areas of expertise and/or breaking news and publicize the Forbes brand.
• Work with the Forbes Social team to promote Forbes content via social media platforms.
• Assist in the global media outreach for signature Forbes franchises, including The Forbes 400, World’s Billionaires, 100 Most Powerful Women and the Celebrity 100.
• Handle all incoming requests for press interviews with writers and editors.
• Assist in managing, researching and developing key submissions and nominations for editorial, journalism and trade awards on an annual basis..
• Promote marketing, advertising, and business initiatives in the trade press, including new hires, promotions, launches, events, and executive appointments.
• Compile all editorial TV appearances to create Forbes media reels for distribution to sales, marketing, events, and editorial teams, as well as for use in the quarterly all-employee Town Hall meetings.
• Manage in-house camera/studio facilities, including operating camera for live and recorded television hits.
• Oversee departmental intern.

Performance Metrics:
• Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, including consumer, entertainment, TV, international, business, and trade press.
• Generate consistent, ongoing and maximum publicity for original content on forbes.com, as well as key Forbes franchises and brand extensions.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Support key functions internally, including editorial, marketing and new business development, and organize media results for internal distribution.

Skills and Experience:
• College degree required
• 3-5 years of experience in relevant position in Public Relations
• Strong relationships with consumer, trade, online, entertainment and TV press
• Deep knowledge of social media
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to multitask. Must be able to juggle multiple projects.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work within deadlines
• Team player with strong attention to detail and good time management skills
