A Hired Guns client is looking for an Content Strategist/Copywriter/Editor-type to join their fast-growing team. This client is building a business development tool that's going to be extremely disruptive and will soon set the status quo for the biz dev market for years to come. The right Gun for this gig will have a strong writing and editing background with expertise in writing for a business-minded audience and is not afraid to tackle the challenge of turning a brand into both a thought leader and publisher of expert content in their respective space. Gun Profile
You're a passionate content avenger who takes pains to make sure voice, tone, and general appearance are always exciting and always on-brand. You're a big thinker and you've got some experience creating a content strategy from scratch for a new business. You're always thinking of ways to make sure your content provides added value, both for your company and for the desired audience. You've made a style guide for a young company and can get your content providers to adhere to it. You've got some experience writing lead generation copy like landing pages and varied print collateral. Maybe you've even worked on a white paper or two.

You're an inveterate researcher who loves to learn more about your audience and then weaves that information in to make your content just that much more targeted. You're also a ninja when it comes to all the big social platforms and know how to tweak your content to make the biggest impact on each. You know your way around most major CMS systems, as well.

You're also most at home in an environment that's fast, highly collaborative, and very, very ambitious. You can keep up in this scenario because you're extremely organized and know that organization enables agility.

Nitty Gritty
This is a company in its infancy, but it's about unleash the ultimate biz dev tool. They need an experienced content pro to help them get there. You'll be working with the head of marketing to establish a content strategy that helps this brand fully express itself. You'll be going out and sourcing articles that help lend credibility to the brand and making sure that said credibility comes through across multiple platforms. Your job, in a nutshell, is to turn this brand into a content machine and establish it as a trustworthy voice in its space. You're going to be asked to marshal a raft of experts and turn them into your top content creators. It's not going to be a cakewalk -- the demands of this job are great, but so is the pay off. The environment is collaborative and relatively flat. Plus, you'll be able to say "I was there when..."

Inside Skinny
The Gun who will land this role is an experienced but probably still early-career content wiz who's taken a young brand and expressed their identity through exceptional content. Agency experience is also a plus, but it's not a must-have. If you can show us a stellar brand identity online and say "I built that," you're going to have a major leg up here.
