Ms. Hiring Manager
Full Time
One of the top names in television is looking for its next Social Media Editor. This role is all about expanding the social reach of the network and converting social followers into reliable traffic on the networks' own site. If you’re the kind of Gun who’s got several years of social experience -- including a few at the management tier -– and proven skills at making a big name even bigger, read on.

Gun Profile
Your friends (and your parents) think you just hang out on Facebook and Twitter all day, but we both know it’s much more than that. You’re the master of audience engagement. You can take an overall corporate strategy and translate it into measurable traction on multiple social platforms. You’re not afraid to take a risk, but you don’t take a step without having a data-driven business case for doing so. You live and die by your KPIs; you know your current goals and your past performance by heart, and you’re always looking for the next neat app or strategy that will help you bury the needle.

You also realize that social is about more than just watching the “likes” pile up. You know how to convert fans and followers into site traffic for a business’s own site. This means you can design great content that drives the social conversation and have a clear picture of how that translates into revenue. You’re also a polished presenter; you build consensus with ease and you’re able to speak to the top brass about your performance in quantifiable terms.

Nitty Gritty
There’s considerable ownership here. With the entire social media team reporting to you, the network will be looking to you provide keen insight, grow their presence, and elevate their brand into the social vanguard among media companies. You’ll be working with a lot of cross-functional teams: marketing, PR, and digital producers will all have a stake in your strategy. Likewise, you’ll be best friends with the quants in the Analytics department, since they’ll be reporting on your overall performance.

Inside Skinny
To excel here, you need to be more than just a social savant. There are aspects of project management, marketing, and content strategy in play here. You’ll also need demonstrated wins building social presences for recognizable B2C entities. And again, management experience is a must. You’ll need several years in the M or D-level trenches in order to fill these shoes.

All in all, the right Gun for this role comes from a major company with an establishing social presence that they either helped build or grew by using both familiar and innovative methods. If this sounds like you, and if you’re ready to take the next step in the hottest field around, this would be a good time to ping us.
