We have an exciting opportunity for an Editor in our Scientific, Technical, Medical and Scholarly (STMS) business. In this role, you will be independently responsible for the financial and editorial development and the editorial management of a group of Earth and Space Science titles, working within a team of editorial, marketing, and production colleagues, in both local and global Wiley-Blackwell offices. You will research and implement ideas for developing content, revenue, and profitability of the books managed; propose and agree financial forecasts and other key financial decisions; monitor contract terms; and maintain a broad overview of competitor activity and market developments.


•Minimum 3 years of editorial experience in STMS book publishing
•Knowledge of book publishing process and book commissioning experience
•Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
•Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
•Project management and relationship management skills, including ability to relate successfully to a variety of people internally and externally and to form strong relationships with authors and editors
•High level of diplomacy, along with demonstrated effective negotiation and problem-solving skills
•Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent, ideally in a science subject related to Earth and Space Science
