Position SummaryThe vice president of marketing is charged with leading the overall strategy for the marketing account group, which is responsible for supporting all key areas of the organization to meet their business goals by developing insights-based marketing strategies, messages and materials. The vice president oversees a team, has several direct reports, is a member of the marketing leadership team, and is one of the organizational leaders in message development for key audiences. Team OverviewOur beloved, smart, and witty Marketing + Communications team strategically partners with our colleagues to help Teach For America meet its organizational and team-specific goals by: * Developing and sharing actionable insights about our various target audiences; * Delivering high-quality, innovative, multi-channel marketing solutions that represent the essence of our brand; * Driving awareness and intent to act among prospects, parents and potential donors; and * Empowering staff, corps members, alumni and allies to be effective stewards of the Teach For America brand and help foster their advocacy. Responsibilities: * Directly managing 6 staff members and a team of 22 toward ambitious, measurable goals * Setting vision and direction for the marketing account team, including establishing goals and determining optimal structure * Building a high performing, cohesive and efficient marketing account team with the capacity and skills to execute effectively, clear paths for professional development and growth, and a supportive and rewarding work environment * Leading the account team to meet its annual marketing goals (metrics that measure the impact and effectiveness of strategic support and materials with internal clients and constituents and external target audiences) by overseeing the execution of strategies, tracking progress towards goals, and working directly with senior leaders on client teams to ensure alignment and prioritization * Developing, identifying and leveraging opportunities to maximize initiatives and build brand awareness and intent to act among key target audiences * Serving on the marketing leadership team, which is responsible for the overall marketing strategy (mission, goals, etc.) and team effectiveness (performance management, team retreats, communications structures) * Overseeing the marketing budget, including preparing budgets, financial forecasting and analysis, and ensuring fiscal responsibility across the team * Overseeing the development and implementation of processes and structures to increase efficiencies and communication across the team such as RACIs, Microsoft Project, shared resources team folder, etc. * Overseeing cross-functional marketing initiatives, including the relationship between marketing and the diversity & inclusiveness team to develop the marketing strategy * Managing external partners, including advertising agencies, publishing houses, production firms, consultants, etc. * Leading the development of cross-cutting internal and external messaging projects such as the admissions waitlist, district strategy materials, sensitive staff-wide internal communications, etc. * Overseeing all marketing messaging and copy both internally and externally, including for the public website, recruitment materials, development materials, alumni materials, etc.Candidate Profile and Experience: * Bachelor's degree * Minimum of 8 years of professional work experience, including people management, with evidence of measurable results and professional growth * Teach For America staff or alumni experience highly preferred * Marketing experience highly preferred * Has experience in engaging and inspiring constituents of Teach For America with the right messaging * Motivated by a deep connection to Teach For America's mission; particularly the organization's commitment to the relentless pursuit of student achievement * Exceptional writing and communication skills * Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to successfully manage a number of diverse tasks, activities, and projects * Has strong relationship-building and people-development skills, with the capacity to engage each individual to their highest potential * Is visionary, strategic, and analytical, with exceptional structured problem solving skills * Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment, working with all members of an organization including senior management, creative, and digital/insights * Good judgment and strong initiativeTo apply: http://teachforamerica.taleo.net/careersection/01/jobdetail.ftl?&job=12697Benefits and SalarySalary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience.
