Manhattan College’s Marketing and Communication office seeks an interim manager of communications to execute and manage all media relations efforts for the College.
General Duties:

Write press releases and media alerts on upcoming events, lectures, guest speakers, etc.Pitch faculty experts (research, books, etc.)Utilize Vocus Media Database software (circulate press releases, update media lists/outlets, create custom media lists, analyze press release/news metrics, and monitor daily news/social media alerts) Assist athletics department as needed with cross-promotion efforts for new hires, athletic/ campus events, etc.Manage the Newsroom Twitter and assist with other social media efforts Write articles for manhattan.edu and the alumni magazine, and add press releases/articles to online newsroom.

Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, English or journalism and master’s degree in public relations, journalism or related field is highly preferred Experience: Five or more years of related experience Skills: Adobe CS Suite and familiarity with Drupal CMS

This is a temporary position: Three months in duration (February to May/must be available to train in January). Flexibility is available with hours.
