Job Description

National Journal Group seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its digital product operations team. The Senior Project Manager will oversee execution of digital projects, both large and small, and will play a critical role in planning and executing against all major digital initiatives.

Reporting to the VP/GM of National Journal, the senior project manager will work closely with business stakeholders, designers, editors and technology staff to establish and execute against project timelines for the National Journal Group’s diverse portfolio of online, mobile and email products. He/She will also help set and execute product roadmaps, and lead business requirements, product requirements and RFPs.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have polished communications and presentation skills, be detail oriented and thrive in a fast paced, cross-functional and regularly changing environment. Responsibilities Include:

•Manage the creation and execution of project plans to support National Journal’s web, email, mobile and tablet products
•Host and facilitate regular meetings with team members and senior leadership to discuss ongoing and future initiatives
•In partnership with the VP/GM, development lead, and project manager, forecast the high-level timelines for the planning, development and launch of all digital initiatives
•Proactively communicate key milestones and project updates to stakeholders and senior management
•Host and facilitate regular meetings with team members, peers from other departments, and senior leadership to discuss ongoing and future initiatives
•Create product documentation based on stakeholder inputs, including scope definitions, use cases, requirements, project dependencies and test cases.
•Review all creative, product and technical deliverables to ensure projects remain in scope
•Identify and resolve conflict areas in priorities and head off potential delays
•Propose projects and project groupings in support of business objectives
•Partner with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, editors, sales staff and technology staff to define and execute against an aggressive digital strategy

Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:

•7+ years’ project management experience, preferably in a digital media environment
•Project management certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project management (CAPM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
•Experience managing both large-scale initiatives and quick-turnaround projects, and in using project management software.
•Experience in scoping, documenting and testing products on all digital platforms: web, email, mobile and tablet
•Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize, strong attention to detail, comfortable presenting to senior leadership
•Experience and comfort in a highly-visible role within a fast-paced company
