BRIC is the community access television organization for Brooklyn. Its community media programs offer residents free access to media production facilities and equipment and low-cost media education through the Brooklyn Center for Media Education. BRIC's community media programming also includes three programming initiatives aired on the 4-channel BCAT-TV Network: community-produced Brooklyn Free Speech TV; BRIC-produced, Brooklyn-focused Brooklyn Independent Television; and Brooklyn Bulletin Board, a 24/7 looping announcement service used by Brooklyn non-profits.

Purpose of Position: The Marketing Manager will report to the Associate Director of Marketing and be responsible for implementing a strategic marketing plan to build awareness of BRIC's community media initiatives, increase usage of media services, and expand viewership.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Execution of a programmatic marketing plan that employs a full mix of print and online advertising, event marketing;
- Oversee online marketing including providing content for website; writing copy for weekly and monthly e-blasts;
- Conceive of social media strategy with editorial calendar and content for social media networks including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, blogs and similar platforms;
- Integrate social media strategies into TV programming in order to facilitate viewer engagement:
* Assist with coordination of and social interaction during live editorial events (e.g. live chats, calls for user-submitted content, etc.)
* Help engage viewers in writing comments and posting on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
* Monitor comments and post on platforms
- Responsible for scheduling and trafficking of all print, display and online advertising;
- Write copy and oversee the creation of printed materials, including quarterly CNG program inserts, education brochures, flyers, and weekly ads; take photographs to incorporate into written material and platforms;
- Coordinate with BRIC's graphic designer on creative production of printed marketing materials;
- Write marketing copy for TV programs and sponsorship material;
- Plan community events and special events; coordinate and attend street fairs;
- Attend marketing team meetings and report on activities and programs in community media, and actively contribute to resource sharing among marketing team members; work collaboratively with marketing team on BRIC-wide marketing strategy;
- Other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in marketing in a media organization.
- Experience in managing content for digital platforms including websites, blogs, and social media.
- Experience with Microsoft office suite; Adobe Photoshop, video editing software, InDesign and Illustrator also desirable.

Skills Required
- Fluency in graphic design process with excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of HTML a plus.
