Fraser Lang
Full Time
How would you like to live and write on one of the “Last Great Places,” according to the Nature Conservancy?

The Block Island Times is seeking an experienced editor to work year-round for our award winning weekly newspaper.

The job would call for a variety of skills: solid writing ability, extensive editing and even photography.

A typical week might call for attending meetings in the evening, perhaps writing a profile or feature, and tackling whatever spot news might come over our transom (you’d be surprised).

The ideal candidate would be a convivial personality who would fit in comfortably in an office with a lot of togetherness.

While Block Island is a bustling summer resort, the winters get very quiet. But there’s always lots going on at the paper. Remember: this is an island — reachable by ferry and plane — and commuting would not be practical.

Please send resume and clips to: Fraser Lang, Block Island Times, P.O. Box 278, Block Island, R.I. 02807 or flang@blockislandtimes.com. Absolutely no phone calls.

Four years experience as reporter or editor. Journalism degree or equivalent. Ability to work well with others.
