The Time Inc. Lifestyle Group seeks a seasoned PR professional to oversee Communications for REAL SIMPLE, the award-winning lifestyle brand that provides inspiring ideas and practical solutions to help today’s busy woman navigate her everyday life.

The PR director will work closely with the editorial and business sides of the brand to set the Communications strategy, position the brand in the marketplace, and create and identify media opportunities to help achieve the brand’s overall business goals. The PR Director will be a key member of the REAL SIMPLE management team, serving as a Communications advisor to the brand.

The PR Director will be responsible for strategic and creative PR campaigns across all media, including print, TV, digital, bloggers and social media. The position requires extensive knowledge of and relationships in the lifestyle arena as well as a successful track record in both the consumer and trade press.

The PR Director will also work on other Lifestyle Group brands, as needed, and pitch in on overall communications for the group. The position reports to the VP, Communications for the Time Inc. Lifestyle Group, with additional reporting relationships to the brands’ editorial and business leads.

-8-10 years experience in lifestyle PR
-Strong enthusiasm for the REAL SIMPLE brand
-Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic and creative PR plans
-Ability to position brands in a positive light and foresee potential risks to brand reputation
-Experience writing talking points and prepping executives for press interviews and speaking engagements
-Proven success with digital, including strong knowledge of online lifestyle space, blogosphere and social platforms
-Established relationships with print reporters, bloggers and national TV producers
-Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, deadlines and senior executives in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent writing skills (samples required) and verbal/pitching skills
-Ability to think creatively and “outside the box”
