Job DescriptionClimate Central seeks an energetic, experienced meteorologist who is passionate about communicating the weather, and about explaining how weather and climate are connected. Strong candidates will have experience analyzing multiple sources of weather and climate data, deep relationships with the TV weather forecasting community, and demonstrated skills in translating the results for both professional and lay audiences.ResponsibilitiesProvide expertise in meteorology in support of climate change content development across multiple platforms.Function as the key advisor to the organization’s program that provides climate information to local television meteorologists.Lead the development of climate-science-based weather graphics, animations, and data visualizations for this fast-growing group of TV meteorologists.Be the organization’s voice and liaison with both the broadcast and research-based weather forecasting community.Work with senior scientific staff to identify priority areas of research.Write stories and blogs for climatecentral.org.Qualifications:Degree in Meteorology. Preferred experience as an on-camera weathercaster or producer with AMS seal. Strong relationships within the local, TV meteorologist community. Proficiency in broadcast meteorology graphics tools, such as WSI Tru Vu and Baron Services. Experience using National Weather Service data.Must enjoy working as a team player in an entrepreneurial environment.This position will be located in our Princeton, N.J., office.Compensation is competitive, with very generous benefits.
